Simcoe House

"We are more than just a shelter."

In 2008, Cambridge Shelter Corporation purchased a small building directly across the road.  We named this building 'Simcoe House' and moved all of our addiction services to that location.

Our outreach team of Marian Best, Outreach Director, and Don Johnson, Outreach Worker, spend all of their time working with our clients and others from the community who suffer from addictions.  Through their vast network of contacts and partners at addiction centres all over Ontario, they are able to send between 200 and 300 people each year for treatment.

Marian and Don also work closely with the criminal justice system, Waterloo Regional Police, social services and counselling agencies.  They have started a number of aftercare groups to help people continue on their journey to living a life without addiction.  All groups meet at Simcoe House and include:

Cocaine Anonymous - Sunday evenings at 6:00 p.m.

12 Steps - Monday mornings at 10:00 a.m.

Relapse Prevention - Wednesday evenings at 6:00 p.m.

12 Steps - Thursday mornings at 10:00 a.m.
